Covid 19 and the knock-on impact on MOT's

MOT's are, and always have been, some of the most important work that we undertake here at Carmaster. They ensure the safety of both the vehicle upon which they are carried out and, by extension, everyone else on the roads. Furthermore, if your vehicle requires an MOT by law, you can be fined up £1000 for driving without one.

Recently, Cars, motorcycles and light vans that were due an MOT between 30 March and 31 July 2020 were given a 6-month extension to allow people to continue to use their vehicles for essential travel during the pandemic.

This means that, in the coming months, the vehicles that received an MOT extension, along with those that would normally be due their MOT, will both need to be tested. As a result, MOT centres are likely to be very busy this autumn, ensuring that millions of vehicles on UK roads remain safe and provide peace of mind to owners.

While we will be doing everything that we can to meet the significantly increased demand for MOT's in October and November, we strongly advise you to book your car in early to avoid disappointment or delay.

Please be reassured that we have full COVID safety measures in place and are on hand to carry out non-contact collections and deliveries for vulnerable customers.

As always, we look forward to welcoming you at Carmaster soon.

Stay safe,

The Carmaster Team
